Dear Colleague,
You have graduated from one of the best Soviet universities and started your scientific carrier in one of the best research centers of the former Soviet Union. Then you decided to continue your scientific work in a foreign university or a research center.
Many of your colleagues followed the same way. Now you can find the former “Soviet” scientists around the whole world: from US and Canada to South America, from Europe to South Africa, and from Asia to Australia and New Zealand. Many of them are leading professors and scientists in their universities and research centers. Some of them have organized start-ups or are leading successfully high-tech companies.
It seems to us that it is now a good moment to arrange a meeting for all these people encouraging scientific links between them. We organize an International Workshop “NanoTechnological Revolution” with interdisciplinary topics, and hope to see between attendants not only physicists and engineers, but also chemists and biologists.
During our first meeting we would like to bring together researchers working outside of the Russian Federation and other former Soviet republics. Nevertheless, we plan to invite a couple of persons, who will represent the Russian Program on NanoTechnology. The future of this meeting will be decided by all of us together.
As a location of the first workshop, our French colleagues propose an Island in the South of France. It is a very nice place and we believe that you and especially your accompanying persons will enjoy very much the time spent at this place. The meeting is planned from 5th to 11th of October 2008: not so many tourists, still nice weather, and warm sea water.
We are looking forward to see you at the Workshop, and we will appreciate very much all your comments and suggestions regarding the organization and the Program of this meeting.
With best regards,
Slava Safarov
